About

What can we learn about peace and conflict through movies and television? What drives violence in our world today? How can we prevent violence and build peace in our communities?

I am the Peace Hobo, a current Ph.D. candidate in Peace and Conflict Studies, and I would like to help improve how we communicate to the public the insights that our field gains from research and practice. How can we better educate the public on peace and violence? By using a medium that people already understand: movies, television, and games! The stories we tell through media today already speak to us about peace and violence in ways that we often don’t examine, meaning that there is already a rich storytelling language that can speak to anybody.

Due to my workload as a researcher and tutor, I am currently producing essays irregularly. I will gladly take suggestions and am always interested in discussing these topics further! Please reach out to me through the contact page or comment on my essays.
